Alex Robertson gave us an update on the Peace Program and how it relates to polio prevention. The program started in 1998 and since then 118 Million Children received the polio prevention medication! In 2015 there were 74 cases of polio in the world; 2016 – 22 cases; 2017 – 35 cases; and so far this year 18 cases have been reported. The two countries where it is difficult, if not impossible, to administer polio prevention are Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Jim Reid said there are tickets still available for the Poway Symphony concert. He also thanked everyone who joined in the matching grant request.
Arilla St. Laurent welcomed Cathy Glover back after recent foot surgery. Arilla also mentioned that the Poinsettia sales are still taking place.

Fine Master John O’Neill started out by asking Dan Barrios, “where’s Francie?” as several members mentioned they would like to see her. He fined Dan and said he would continue to fine him until Francie comes to a meeting with him. Vern Cooke and Steve La Pointe were fined for not wearing their Rotary pins. John then received numerous happy bucks.

Co-President Susan introduced the evening’s program, a Club Assembly, in which a few of the committees were highlighted. The goal is to have all members support the committees of their choice.
