Announcements: Mike Fuqua continues to remind us of our upcoming HUGE fundraiser On Sun., July 14th at Webb Park. The Vines and Vittles committee has been in the process of putting this fundraiser together for almost a year and it's just around the corner. Our partner in this event is The Rancho Bernardo Historical Society. We need more volunteers to help at the event. Please let Mike or Phil Warner know if you can help. Our members get special reduced pricing of $25 a ticket for food, drinks and FUN!

Toby and Ann opened their home to our club for this months' TGIX. The had the event catered and the club members did a pot luck for the sides. It was a great success and we all thank them for offering their lovely home for a place to relax and visit with each other!

Dan Barrios has done a terrific job heading up our annual giving drive for the Rotary Foundation. So far we have been honored with being #1 in giving this year through-out the district. He has worked very hard at this honor and we should all give him a pat on the back!! Both John O'Neill with $9,000 in Paul Harris giving and James Kaspar who became a Major Donor this year were recognized for their generous and continued contributions.

If you're traveling and have an opportunity to exchange banners with other clubs, please bring them in so we can add them to our new wall hangings.

On a sad note for us, Paul Donick will be leaving our club due to distance and traffic. He'll be missed as he has been a 35 year long member but we hope to see him back for makeups! Teshas' husband has been accepted in to a nursing program in Texas so they chose to move there in support of this exciting opportunity. We will miss her beautiful smile but hope to keep our connection with The Boys and Girls Club in her honor.

Don Glover is heading up the VIP Reception on the 4th of July and needs volunteers to help set up, serve food and beverages, and clean up. Dave Brooks is President of the 4th of July event and parade and either one can give you more details if you can help.

John O'Neill did a "fine" job as Fine Master and raised a nice sum of money for our club. Arilla met with Maureen Rouleau who has been very ill for the past month. There will be a request for blood donations in the near future as she continues to undergo tests to pinpoint the problems she's facing. A card and/or prayers are greatly appreciated but please, no phone calls at this time.

Bill Brehm was the high bidder for the lovely bouquet donated by Branches, the floral shop at the RB Winery. Please remember them when you need to order flowers. They are great!

Jim Hyldahl, our speaker chair, introduced Cathy Bauer, VP, from Cal State University, San Marcos, to give us an overview of what's happening at their beautiful campus. It has come a long way since opening its doors in early 1990's. It is one of few campuses that has state of the art equipment to support their students. They have new housing for students and are adding to the size of the campus on a continuing basis.

Future meetings: June 26: Demotion Party
July 4th: DARK but volunteer your time at the parade and/or VIP Party
July 11th: Inauguration of David and Susan King meeting
July 18th: All about illusions and some tricks behind them. Skyler King

Other Events: June 27th Governor's Dinner (Awards). Still time to sign up. We will be awarded one of the Districts top honors! Hope you can attend!
July 13 and 14: V & V Fundraiser. Volunteer and invite friends, family, and neighbors!
Enjoy your summer!
