Other News
Athenea announced the launch of our Social Committee called “Spouses that Wine”. First event to be a Thursday lunch picnic at Lake Poway on Sept 22nd, instead of the regular club meeting. Save the date, more details to follow.
Vista Hill District Grant – our club is leading a multi-club grant for supporting Vista Hill Mental Health Programs. If you would like to make a personal donation please let Alan know. Our grant application has to be submitted by the end of July.
Interact – we intend to stimulate the creation of Interact clubs at our local high schools. We have already sponsored a club at Mt. Carmel. If you would like to help in this activity, please let Alan or Terry know.

Alan Turner started off his first meeting with lots of enthusiasm and our Vines and Vittles are coming back after 2 years of lock downs. On Sunday, August 14th, from 2 - 5 PM we will offer our food and drink booths along with games for the kids! You can find event information at: vinesandvittlesfestival.com or rbvvfest.com. Tickets bought in advance are $40 and will be $50 the day of the event. Food only will be $25 and children 6-12 pay $10 and children 5 and under are free! Please visit our web site for more details.

The event is only 5 weeks off. Our club members are being asked to sell $250 worth of tickets and any unsold tickets will be refunded to the seller. There is still time for our members to invite your favorite restaurant to participate and sell tickets to the event.

Family of Rotary is keeping an eye on Arilla at the Health Center. She is cheerful and doing fine but has a long road ahead of her. She and Chuck live at Casa de las Campanas where he goes back and forth from their apartment to her hospital room along with many friends that come and go as visitors. A card of encouragement or a call on her cell phone is a great way to keep in touch with her.

Athenea gave $100 to Happy Bucks to Rotary and she said that spouses are the committee to help raise more money!
If you get the Rotarian Magazine, look at the cover picture of our new, upcoming RI President. Her name is Jennifer Jones and will be their first female RI President...ever! She has quite a write up in the magazine.

Our club is being asked to bring 1 guest to 1 meeting and hopefully we can grow our club and be even better as we move forward. We also are starting an Interact Club for ages 12 - 18 years old at Mt. Carmel High School.
A "Rotary Action Group" is being formed at District 5340 addressing "Mental Health Initiatives".
Gordon McNally is heading up a Rotarian @ Work Day on April 29th for Vista Hill. So far there are 2 grants for $1,750 and $2500 from Chuck Pretto., our incoming District Governor.
Have a wonderful day!
