The remaining dates for dinner service this year are:
President Doug called the meeting to order at 12:30 with the recitation of the 4 Way Test Credo, followed by the pledge. Rick Bramble presented the inspiration message after which Alan Turner circulated the room to have our members' guests introduced. Joel Doss led a jaunty welcome song that set the mood for an interesting meeting that followed accompanied by appropriate and amusing slides.




Meeting volunteers were thanked: Scribe, Sonny Googins, Front Desk, Joel Doss, John Harris and Charlie Crew, Set Up, Jim Reid, Paul Donick, and Pat Chaffee, Photographer, James Kaspar, Meeting coordinator, John O'Neill, with special thanks for the ' summer shorts' motion.



President Doug gave special recognition to Joel Doss, 'service above self' coin for his weekly service handling our dues and other financial collections, training others throughout the year. Joe Max, our most senior member, received recognition to become a Rotary Honorary Member. Joe thanked Vern Cook for enabling him to attend meetings.

Ron Hunt reported on the Youth Symphony Orchestra concerts presented in Balboa Park.

Dan Barrios awarded President his second Paul Harris Fellowship pin. He later encouraged members to use direct deposit for the Foundation donations.

Volunteers for the Boys and Girls Club Olympics at 4S Ranch were acknowledged by both President Doug and Tesha. Dave Brooks, Cathy Glover, Mike and Patty Fuqua, Troy Daum, Larry Valente, Karen Stelman, Arilla St. Laurent, Vern Cook, Maureen Rouleau, Lynn Ross and Jess Dawson. Over 600 youngsters from the entire county participated.

President Doug briefly discussed projects with Mexico involving Tilapia fish and Solar energy.
An upcoming fund raiser, Vines and Vittles is planned for July 14, 2019 with a Western motif and a sign up sheet was circulated for those who would solicit sponsors.

Judy Luttiken requested the return of her questionnaire regarding a possible fund raiser. John O'Neill, our esteemed fine master fined all members who did not attend the Toronto convention. He graciously accepted two medical exemptions.

Our speaker Vicki Zimmerman Fox from the Braille Institute, established in 1919, was introduced by Pat Chaffee. She described the comprehensive program, which provides free services to the visually impaired. She demonstrated how the eye sees technically, various medical conditions, and informed us of the goal, "To Live Well with Low Vision. " 15 million people in American are blind or visually impaired.
