Welcome Presidents David and Susan ...

RB Rotary Meeting Minutes July 11, 2019
The meeting was called to order by Sonny & Cher aka Co-Kings/Presidents David and Susan.. and unusual to have them lead the 4 Way Test with  Susan in black flowing hair and rainbow dress and David in headband, mustache and jeans. It came off as elegantly as ever for all its good meaning.
Cathy Glover led the Pledge of Allegiance followed by Bill Brehm, giving the inspirational address. Then doing double duty as our Greeter, made  the rounds to identify our guests. Joel, sans Baton this week, nevertheless, conducted our Welcome song, sung heartily by a full house of members and guests.  It was noted that the clinking of glasses needed some practice or conducting. Volunteers, Front Desk, Joel Doss, John Mullin, Mike Stelman; Photographer, James Kaspar, Meeting Organizer, John O'Neill and the set-up crew.
Past President Doug Dawson announced an outstanding evening for RB Rotary at the District Governor's Award NIGHT   wherein we were selected  ROTARY INTERNATIONAL Platinum Presidential Distinction, Best Mid-Size Club in the District, and Second in Foundation status. Doug extended Congratulations to all who made these possible.
Our Chief V&V Cheerleader/Leader gave us last minute details for Saturday and  Sunday.   Ron Hunt announced the 15th Annual Music Camp and Vern Cook gave us results of 'stand down'  in Balboa Park and upcoming  Boys & Girls Club Summer Games on the 19th.
Jim Hyldahl presented a Community Service update noting that Oaks North will be the work target in the Fall.  A TGIX is coming in August.  Dan Barrios reported on the Foundation. Another club came up with an over $6,000 last minute donation to beat us out of first place.
Our Fine Monster was in excellent form, catching Alex Robertson for 'consorting with Royalty.' Jim Hyldahl, Bill Brehm, usual offenses. Cathy and Don Glover because they were too photogenic, and one 'perpetual pending Red Badge member' who has been pending for quite a while.
The second highlight of the evening was David and Susan forecasting 2019-2020 for our club, both focus and philosophy. Twelve slides followed detailing all areas of club activity and those assigned to carry them out.  The goals will be sent to all. New Ideas include selecting a Rotarian of the Month, and the "Joe Max Moment" a time for a story or joke. Upcoming events and programs were mentioned.
The meeting was adjourned when President Susan rang the ring of the bell at 7:00. Yes, a good time was had by all!

Please forgive the errors and/or omissions. Sat way in back...and you were all happily noisy; a problem when so much Rotary spirit is in the room.
