

The special Valentine celebration meeting was called to order by President Doug as we recited the Four Way Test. Pres. Doug announced that the formal meeting would be shorter so as to enjoy the special Valentine program.
The inspirational message was presented by Jon Harris who spoke to us about Sally McNally among the first female Air Force Commanders in the days of the Korean and Viet Nam wars. Diane Remick, our Greeter, made the rounds asking for introductions of over 25 guests including family Valentines. Meeting volunteers were thanked.
Mike Fuqua gave an update on V&V, praising Bill Brehm as the "Rock Star" of our Sponsor Committee having obtained many sponsors. Help is needed for various functions including Ticket Sales.

Presidents-Elect David and Susan King announced the theme, "Rotary Connects The World" and noted that it is their intention to have a Community Needs Assessment to better inform the club. Jim Reid told members about RYLA and the interview process , thee talented applicants from RB and Del Norte High Schools and thanked the interviewers for their service.

Don Glover, Foundation Chair presented Amy Kennedy , American Diabetes Association Executive Director, with a $1,000 matching gift for Camp Wana Kura-a camp for children with Diabetes. This was sponsored by Sonny Googins and Don Hunt.

Announcements regarding the Peace Forum at UCSD on February 23, the District Conference, March 1,2,3 and March 30 District Training Assembly. Programs: February 21, Bobbi Brink, Lions, Tigers & Bears, Animal Rescue Sanctuary and February 28, The Four Way Speech Contest.


A delightful program followed planned by Sadie Dewane for all Rotary Valentines. Wedding pictures rotated throughout the evening of our members wedding photos... which all enjoyed. Then, The Turners, as a couple, charmed us all with their stories of their early 'courting days' in Scotland, Sonny and Bob Googins met in college and Sonny's presentation revealed that she was given Bob to train in campus politics. and she's continued his training for over 60 years. Gary Saks surprised his lovely wife, Didi, with a love poem that we all enjoyed. Alex Robertson wrapped up the program with his tales of dates and adventures.




A happy, loving group of Rotarians thanked Sandie and David Brooks for the program and technology, and participants as President Doug ended the meeting with the bell!
