April 2nd Rotary Meeting notes

It was an exciting day for our club. We successfully held our first ever RB Rotary meeting using the Zoom Video system. Forty members signed in and the download went remarkably well. The screen was filled with snapshot headshots, and the sound was mostly excellent once everyone got used to it. Congratulations to Mike Fuqua and Alex Robertson for their steady hands in getting the members up to Zoom speed.
Alex Robertson, our incoming President-Elect, took the helm for this groundbreaking adventure, and acquitted himself well. After leading everyone in reciting the Four Way Test he thanked the volunteers for their service. Charley Crew led us in the Pledge and Russ Haskell gave a Motivational Message. Other volunteers included set up Zoom by Mike Fuqua, John O’Neill as Scribe and Bill Angus for organizer and publisher.
We had a surprise special guest, District Governor Marta Knight, who shared some information with us. Alex shared the latest update from the Rotary Foundation in place of Chair Dan Barrios. Arilla gave us a Family of Rotary update on the success of Dave Brooks’ Cochlear Implant. YEA Dave! Fine Mistress Arilla practiced some monetary wealth extraction from our generous members including $100 from Dave Brooks.
President David took the reins to induct new member John Sullivan with his sponsor Aubrey Paris and mentor Bill Brehm. Welcome John!
David then introduced two esteemed and long-standing members, John Goodrich and John O’Neill, doing Who Am I chats, The two John’s were brilliant in their depth of experience.
The next meeting date will be on this Thursday at 11:00. The format will once again be using the Zoom format. Plan to sign on by 10:45. An instruction letter for the meeting details will arrive early next week.
Meeting adjourned at 12:19pm.
