President Mike called the meeting to order at 12:25 with the Rotary Motto.

The Pledge was led by Bill Brehm
The Inspirational Message was given by Toby Westbrook.

The Greeter, Charley Crew, introduced visiting Rotarians and Guests and led the Welcome Song.

Announcements included:

Halloween Festival to support Ed Brown Center, Oct 13 - volunteers are needed, Interact kids will be helping.
Hurricane Relief efforts continue, and Mike is still looking for the best was of getting help through Rotary.
Rotary Foundation Seminar is this Saturday (9/23).
Pat Kenney's service is Friday (9/22) at San Rafael Church .
Doug Dawson still has 10 tickets to the Gulls vs Stockton game on Nov. 10.
Foundation grant applications are due by Oct. 19 to Charley Crew.

The BIG 100th birthday event was celebrated for Joe Max with cake and song. Alberta was there to help.

The flowers auction resulted in Mira bidding $31 and giving the flowers to Joe!

The author of SGT Reckless, Robin Hutton, wanted our Club to have an autographed copy of Sgt. Reckless, when she heard of our response to Col. Richard Rothwell’s presentation several weeks ago. Arilla then donated the book to the Bernardo Heights Middle School library on behalf of the author and our club.

Paul Harris Fellow Presentation was made to Dan Barrios to Rotarian Mark Kersey.



Charlie Crew introduced Councilman Mark Kersey who spoke about the happenings in the city.
Next week Scott Carr, District Governor will be the speaker, followed by Brian Mainshein, Assemblyman on Oct. 5.
The meeting ended at 1:30.
