Family of Rotary:Jim Sommer gave us an update on Lew Tyler. Lew is heading to Bend, Oregon to be with family. And Frances Blair continues to recover from her surgery and prepare for radiation treatments. Lew and Frances, you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
Next a few quick announcements were made:
President Don noted we received a nice thank you letter from Ronald McDonald House for our support last year. We are on board for quarterly financial and volunteer support again next year.

Today was Charley Crew's birthday and he along with other June babies Gary Saks, Jim Edwards and John O'Neill were serenaded by club members.Next up, Madelyn Reina earned her Gold Badge by delivering her “Who am I?” It's always fun and enlightening to learn more about our members! Madelyn, we enjoyed your story!
Miki Ding, one of last year's scholarship recipients joined us for lunch today. Miki who is attending UC Berkeley, came back to thank us for our support and give us an update on her college life and future plans.
President Don then presented the Most Valuable Rotarian award to Past President Bill Angus for his MANY ongoing contributions to our club, including but not limited to: Golf Tournament chair, Newsletter Publisher, Webmaster, Public Relations wizard, etc., etc., etc.
Our esteemed Fine Master, Mr. John O'Neill successfully delivered Happy Bucks from happy members.John Goodrich introduced our speaker, Joe Harper, CEO Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, Del Mar Rotarian and grandson to Cecil B DeMille. If you missed the meeting, you missed a fascinating talk on the history of the Del Mar racetrack and lots of fun Hollywood insider info!
Past President Jim Hyldahl presented our speaker with a citation and speaker gift in the form of a book to be donated to Bernardo Heights Middle School.
President Don closed the meeting after an inspirational thought from Bob Vaughn.
