President Don called the meeting to order a little early today to accommodate our guests and another holiday party following ours. Jim Wise led us in the pledge and Jim Sommer gave the Inspirational Thought for the Day. Arilla was our greeter and introduced our many guests.
During our lunch, there was a wonderful slide show presentation of our 50th Anniversary dinner thanks to the pictures taken by James Kasper.
Mira announced that there were no reports for the Family of Rotary. Everyone is staying well for the holidays!
Arilla thanked all those that worked and help delivery books for our Dictionary Project. Dec. birthdays were celebrated with some beautiful cupcakes. General Carl Hoffman celebrates his 95th birthday on Dec. 24th. Happy Birthday to all!
Gary Saks, representing the RB Rotary Foundation, announced that and grant or gift requests by in by Jan. 15th so they can be considered for our next presentations. Benita announced that our total club total raised for the Rotary International Foundation is $518,465 in 50 years and we have reached 98% of our goal to have Every Rotarian, Every Year contribute. So far our per capita has reached $318 per person for this year's contributions!
It was great to see our "old" Fine Master back at the podium. John raised a lot of money for our club through fining and asking for Happy Bucks. We also passed the hat for our wonderful waiters that take care of us all year and for the Madrigals that preformed for us this day.
Lisa Friedrichs, Choral Director for the Madrigals, has been teaching our high school young adults for over 21 years. They have won many titles and travel all over the country. It's always the most festive meeting of the year. Over $400 was raised for their performance!
Our next meeting will be on Jan. 8th at 5:30 p.m. Ron Weinberg, aka Mr. Marketing, will be our guest speaker.
Happy Holidays to everyone!
