Rotary meeting minutes for 2/8/18
President “El Grande Hombre” Fuqua opened the meeting by leading us in the traditional Rotary Motto. He then recognized volunteers Mira Bozanich as Greeter, Charley Crew for leading the Pledge and Joel Doss and Russ Haskell for manning the check-in desk. Maguy Feghali gave the Inspirational Message, which was focused on kindness. Also thanked were club photographer James Kaspar, John O’Neill as Scribe and the setup crew of Paul Donick and Judy Lutticken.
President Mike introduced Sonny Googins who is coordinating the Model UN program. The focus will be on France and Italy and will takes sides in debating whether Palestine be allowed to join the UN and the dangers inherent in the current condition of the oceans.
RB Rotary Foundation president John Kasser presented a $1000 check to the Gently Hugged organization, which provides used infant and children’s clothing to families who need some help. Finemaster John O’Neill shook loose some shekels from our generous club members.
Doug Dawson introduced this year’s Four-Way speech test contestants. The four students spoke eloquently about the value of incorporating these principles in a variety of life situations.
