Matching Gifts, Grants and Scholarships:
RBRCF offers these programs every year. The Matching Gift and Grant Programs are generally held in the Fall and the Scholarship Program is completed in the Spring. In the combined years of 2023-2024, $113,621 was awarded; in 2022-2023, $93,535 was awarded. Thus, in two years, these three programs were awarded a total of $207,156.
The Matching Gift Program: Club members can pledge funds of $250.00 or more to their chosen charity, complete the Matching Gift Application and submit it to the RBRCF Board of Trustees. Upon approval, a matching amount up to $1,000 will be awarded. Only eligible Matching Gifts are considered.
The Grant Program is for non-profit organizations to apply for a grant on a one-time basis. The amount awarded to an approved Grant Application is determined by the Board of Trustees and the funds available.
The Scholarship Program
Every year, the Scholarship’s Committee, consisting of five Club members, selects and awards scholarships to Rancho Bernardo and Del Norte High Schools senior students. The selection process is comprehensive: involving with the schools’ counselors, reviewing applications, and interviewing applicants. These scholarships are primarily based on merit, not just academic achievement and may be applied to 4-year colleges, 2-yr colleges, and/or vocational schools.
The scholarships are presented to the recipients at a Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club meeting, where they and their parents may meet Club members.
Over the past two years, $41,000 in scholarships has been awarded. The scholarship program is funded by the Foundation, the See’s Candy fundraiser, and designated donations from Club members and non-members (RB Rotary, Neuberger Scholarship Fund, Arilla St. Laurent Memorial Scholarship Fund).
