I want to thank all the members of our Club who contributed to our annual Adopt a Family for the Holidays. This Year the Poway Unified School District required that all of the children's wish list items and the family gift cards be purchased at either Target or Walmart. There were several reasons for this decision. It was thought that these two shopping centers offer the best prices and the greatest variety in toys, clothing, and food. Another reason for the gift cards is that these cards enable the parents to select what is most appropriate for their families. In any case, we complied with this new procedure.
The funds were equally divided between the two families which we were assigned.
Thanks to Dan for doing the accounting and my thanks to all of you for your generosity in helping to make this holiday season a joyful one for two disadvantaged families.
