RB Rotary May 25, 2023 Meeting Notes
We were delighted to welcome back past member Lynn Ross as a guest after she moved to Washington State.
She has joined the Colville Rotary Club and we enjoyed the banner exchange ceremony.
Lynn is back in town to help the Miss RB Pageant which she coordinated for many years.
Our red badger Toi Pak was creative in merging her inspirational moment with her Who Am I? These presentations are always so powerful as we learn the background to our new members, and what guided them to join Rotary. Toi is using her talent to engage with children in the formation of an Interact Club at Rancho Bernardo High School.
Diane Remick has created another fun social event for us; a "Day at the Races" at Del Mar on August 25th.
Our "Happy Bucks" announcer, Arilla encouraged everyone to give themselves a big pat on the back for the tremendous Vines & Vittles event.
The feedback has been excellent from guests and vendors alike; and we raised over $60,000.
Our speaker was Bob Brewer who talked about the Vietnam Vets and Honor Flight. Bob is a Vietnam Vet himself and provided a very informative timeline of the events of the Vietnam war and the public perception of that war. A very timely presentation leading up to Memorial Day.
