RB Rotary May 18, 2023 Meeting Notes
We were delighted to welcome Christo Forster from Sierra Leone. Christo is currently the Rotary District 9101 Governor covering 11 countries in West Africa. We exchanged club banners.
Barbara Noerenberg presented an inspiring message describing how the lessons learned as early as kindergarten are also still relevant as adults.
Our Club Foundation has been busy over the last year, giving away over $100,000 in grants and scholarships. Foundation President Athenea conducted an election for one of the positions on the Board of Trustees, and later it was announced that Judy Lutticken had been duly elected.
Then we heard from Emily Paup who presented her "Who Am I?" Emily has introduced Lucia Capital Group as a Corporate Member of the club, and Lucia were also the generous Presenting Sponsor for our Vines & Vittles event.
It is only 3 days to Vines & Vittles and we have a great line up of volunteers.
Our speaker this week was Elaine Boyd who presented "Fruit Trees for San Diego' - this was a fascinating and informative discussion, and it was apparent that many members were taking notes on the varietals that do well in our region.
