Bob Vaughn was successful in getting Happy Bucks from at least 11 members. A special mention to Jim Sommer on his 89th birthday.

President Terry was tonight’s program. He gave an excellent presentation on his vision and areas of focus. Briefly, his areas of focus are:
#1 – Increasing Membership by including all ages. CHALLENGE: How can we be irresistible to ALL ages? (Think of a butterfly – we want to attract potential members, not chase after them).
#2 – Continue Mental Health initiatives, including schools, medical professionals and first responders.
#3 – Peace Building by creating environments where peace can be built and maintained through sustainable and measurable activities in communities worldwide.
#4 – Have More Fun - through social times, field trips and community service projects; weekly raffles to enhance club’s budget; continue Happy Bucks; have Speaker presentations first on the agenda.

This year’s Rotary International theme is “The Magic of Rotary” and as interpreted by President Terry: M – magnificent A - actions of G - goodness I - in the C- community and beyond.
How can our Club be irresistible to others – how can we attract potential members? Through our combined wisdom, energy and passion; by keeping an open mind; by everyone’s commitment to get involved and stay involved in the coming year; and actively participating by sharing ideas and plans. Rotary members are People of Action and Terry sees the word “Rotary” as a verb, as in “What will you Rotary today?” Thank you, Terry!

The Club’s budget income sources are through dues, Happy Bucks, meals and occasional auctions. Each year we have a loss and we plan to incorporate a raffle into our meetings and increase dues. Please know that if you make meal reservations, our Club pays for them whether or not you attend. Be sure to contact Pat Chaffee if you have to cancel.
The by-laws were amended and approved to remove the cost of yearly dues to accommodate for various membership levels available.
With a minute left, Terry reported on the fantastic RI Convention held in Singapore, along with great photos.
Next meeting is a lunch meeting on Thursday, July 18. Speaker is Matt Brown of the Anti-Defamation League.
President Terry rang the bell and adjourned his first meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
Sandie Dewane, Scribe
