Jan. 5th Rotary Meeting

President Alan Turner started us off with the Four Way Test being said in unison. He then led us in the pledge. We had a new member induction, Toi Pak, and we know she will be a great asset to our club. A Who Am I was given by Rosalind Duddy which makes her our newest member! She will be a feather in our cap with her enthusiasm and willingness to work with others.

At 9 a.m. Sat. morning, we had our labeling party for the Dictionary Project heading up by Cathy Glover. Many of our members showed up and it was a fun time to work and chat. The weather was beautiful and there was a big crowd working so we finished a bit early! There were 1500 books and "the crew" got the work done in a snap!

President Alan made a check presentation to the Poway Sympathy Orchestra, as we do each year, and it is always appreciated.

Vines and Vittles will be held on May 21st which is a Sunday this year.

Our speaker, Jess Reimnitz, gave us a great insight on his brother who is suffering from Mental Illness. It was very informative and he told us they have lots of support. They will be having a VIP Luncheon on April 13th with tacos and all the fixings and we were all invited! More information to follow.

This week our Call to Action was to continue to donate infant PJ's to the club to help families who cannot afford to buy them.

Rotarians at Work will be held on April 29th and there will be walk for NAMIWalks. Dogs are welcome at certain walks so please confirm at WWW.NAMIWALKS.ORG. This event may allows dogs on the walk! This year the walk begins at Preble Field in NTC Park @ Liberty Station. We look forward to helping make this event a success! James Reimnitz is our team leader!

Our next weeks speaker will be Edna Nerona. Her subject will be Rising Above Bullying!

Have a great rest of your week and see if you can't bring in a new member!
Sincerely,
Karen Stelman, Scribe
