December 8th, 2022

Our president started off the Rotary meeting with the usual required steps.  Charley Crew led us in the pledge, Dan Barrios gave the Inspiration speech, Mark Alberts was our greeter and Karen Stelman filled in for Arilla who was home sick.
We were very happy to see a visiting Rotarian couple, Usha and PK who belong to the Rotary Club of Gouda, District 3120.
Terri Hunter announced that the PJ Drive is still ongoing and encourages everyone to contribute to help the needy.  The PJ Drive will last til  Wed., Dec. 18th.
Cathie Glover is in charge of the Dictionary Signing and looking for people to sign up.
Mike Stelman is in charge of the distribution of boxes which will be held in the Parking Lot of Bernardo Heights CC for the majority of the boxes.  The pickup times are 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sat., Dec. 10th.  There will be a second pick up at 12007 Bajada Rd. in RB.  You will be notified as to which place to go for pick up.  Mikes' cell phone number is 858-229-5615 if you need to call him!
Alan took a group of Rotarians to Mexico to build a house in Tecate.  It's a two day affair with lots of hard work but the finished product looked great and the photos showed the success!  Good work fellow Rotarians!
Bob Vaughn gave out a couple of Paul Harris Awards which is always fun to see and know we all support Rotary.
Sonny Googins introduced our speaker for the day, Terry Norwood, who was instrumental in identifying a building and made it into a thriving RISE Thrift Shop.  She was able to get a 501-C-3 status and is responsible for the immediate success of the idea.  She showed many slides to show the progress they have made.  Let's all support her thru this endeavor!  Volunteer, supply inventory and visit the shop to see all that they have!
Our next meeting will be on Dec. 15th at Koi Zen Cellars.  Please Google the map if you don't know where it is!

It is also the 123rd rivalry game between Army and Navy and it will be played this Saturday. Mike Fuqua will be a good source of information if you need assistance.

Happy December everyone!
