Remaining 2019 Volunteer Opportunities at Ronald McDonald House, the dates are:

November 5th


We usually have about 10 members help serve dinner from 6:00 to 7:30.  The majority of our group needs to arrive at 4:00PM to prepare food and also stay after dinner to clean up until 8:00 PM. August 15, 2019 Meeting Minutes
The Rotary Club of Rancho Bernardo was called to order by Co-Presidents David and Susan King after a delicious lunch at the Bernardo Heights CC.  They then led Rotarians in the Four Way Test. Phil Warner had the honor of reciting the Pledge with fellow members followed by Cathy Glover 's message of inspiration. Dick Norfolk , our Greeter sought out our guests and other club Rotarians to be made welcome with our Welcome song, led vigorously by baton maestro Joel Doss.  Volunteers were thanked: Front Desk, Joel, Arilla, Gary; Set-up ,John Kasser;  Photographer, James Kaspar , and Meeting Organizer, John O'Neill. and Scribe, Sonny Googins.
President David called on Alan Turner who spoke of the Membership Seminar he attended .  Past President Mike Fuqua  thanked Tammy Coleman our V&V  site manager for vendors and more, etc. Mike gave us a Save The Date for the next Vines & Vittles: July 26th, 2020. As we learned this year, that's 'just around the corner'.
 

The next Padre's game is Sept. 10;, Safety Fair, September 21st.  We've added a banner from Elgin, Il to our collection. TGIX /Friday at Jim Hyldahl's home. RB Rotary Day at the Races August 21st. 
Food Bank volunteers for upcoming meetings: Sept, 03, Kings; Sept  24,Kings; Oct. 15 Diane/Gary; Nov. 5,  Gary; Nov, 26, Diane-need buyer; Dec. 17, Gary. The Poinsettia Fund Raiser will continue with Mike & Karen Stelman in charge. 
Alex spoke of the Presidents' Instruction. The Lincoln Memorial Golf Tournament will support Native American higher education-Oct. 12 $125.
Our Posey  auction, after vigorous bidding competition, yielded $65.  So many found reasons to donate Happy Bucks, I,e, help on the road with tire blow out on the way to meeting  to " I'm fining myself $20 because John didn't fine me $100." from Troy D.
Athenea Luciano offered her Who Am I to receive her Gold Badge, treating us to her personal story as well as her career history in government jobs including Homeland Security.  Double welcome!
Pat Chafee introduced our own Troy Daum for our program.  Troy led us through the interesting history of how he and co-workers got the idea and traveled the route to the publishing his and his colleagues' book on Tips for Retirement, based on his 35 years as a Certified Financial  Planner. He graciously had books for members to enjoy.  Troy's program is a fine example of the extraordinary talent among our RB Rotary' members.  Thanks for sharing, Troy!
