Rancho Bernardo Rotary August 1, 2024 Meeting Minutes

President Terry Heck rang the Rotary bell calling the meeting to order at 5:59 pm. President Heck led us in the Rotary Four Way Test and the Pledge of Allegiance.

President Heck thanked volunteers who made the meeting run smoothly as usual:

     Greeter - Barb Alberts
     Scribe - Diane Remick
     A/V - Dave Brooks
Front Desk - Pat Chaffee/Joel Doss
     Photographer - Bill Brehm
     Volunteer Coordinator - Robert Vaughn

Barb Alberts as Greeter welcomed fellow and visiting Rotarians and guests.

We enjoyed John Mullin’s “Who Am I Presentation” especially learning about his lifetime journey through the banking industry with several banks including Wells Fargo in different regions culminating with purchase of a bank which became very successful.

Diane Remick reminded members about “Day At The Races” September 7 and that 17 out of 30 available tickets already sold so if want to join us again for another great afternoon at Del Mar contact her for tickets before they are gone.

Mike Fuqua reminded us about Military Operation Gratitude to be held at San Diego Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park August 19-20.

President Heck introduced the evening’s program agenda.  Instead of a speaker we had breakout sessions where members joined tables each with a facilitator and different focus area including the following:

      Youth Services
      Community Services/Military
      Social/Field Trips
      Mental Health
      Membership
      Peace Building

Members chose the table that met their interest and for 45 minutes we brainstormed multiple ideas pertaining to the table’s assigned subject.  A very positive event.  Input and ideas encouraged.   Room filled with enthusiasm.

Evening concluded with each facilitator sharing a summary of discussions at their table and ideas shared with a goal to hopefully make a difference in our community and Rotary at large.

Meeting adjourned at 7:13 pm.
