***On November 16th, 9:30 - 10:30 am, at Abraxas High School Garden, we are donating 14 fruit trees to them. (First trees in President Mike's goal to plant a tree for each member).
This Tree Project Day is gaining momentum-primarily from the excitement from Abraxas.

We need your help in getting a good Rotary turnout:

  • Bring invited guests including future Rotarians.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and Rotary shirt
  • Tours of vegetable garden and aquaponic garden
  • Mingle with students and teachers
  • Watch students plant the trees, each tagged with name of tree and donated by RB Rotary
  • Refreshments
  • Regular Rotary meeting at BHCC to follow.***

Rotary meeting minutes for 10/26/2017
President elect Doug Dawson filled in for El Capitan Mike Fuqua and opened the meeting by leading us in the traditional Rotary Motto. He then recognized volunteers John Kasser as Greeter, Phil Warner for leading the Pledge and Joel Doss, Gary Saks and Frances Blair for manning the check-in desk. Also thanked were club photographer James Kasper, John O’Neill as Scribe and the setup crew of Paul Donick and Judy Lutticken.
Doug announced that volunteers would be needed to help plant trees at Abraxas Continuation High School. October birthdays were celebrated with some delicious chocolate cake and a rousing birthday song. Dan Barrios presented Don Glover, our latest Paul Harris donor, with a multiple PHF pin.
Dave Books reminded us that the annual Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation’s Thanksgiving lunch will be held on Tuesday, November 21st, at the RB Inn. Contact Dave if you have an interest in attending this fine event. Tickets are $50 pp and seating is limited.
Finemaster John O’Neill fined everyone who did not attend the meeting in a Halloween costume. Many generous Rotarians contributed Happy Bucks.
President elect Doug introduced our speaker, Jack Hughes, from the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy. His group is charged with the care and maintenance of the river from its source in Julian to its end at San Dieguito Lagoon in Del Mar. Jack shared excellent information on how he and his volunteers take care of this precious local resource.
Our speaker for the November 2nd meeting will be Kim Searcy, Senior Docent of the Palomar Observatory.
