Our first order of business was to honor Benita Page for the tireless work she has done for our club in making us one of a very few clubs who have attended most of the District meetings and won so many awards in 2014-15. We also want to recognize Past President Don Glover for the work he did to support Benita in these milestones for our club. The Rotary Foundation awarded RB Rotary a Certificate of Appreciation for the financial support of the End Polio Now campaign. Benita was able to surpass the minimum goal of $100 per capita with a 100% member participation. We also had 100% participation as Sustaining Membership in the
Every Rotarian Every Year campaign. Our club was number three in annual giving out of 63 clubs in our district. Benita continues to be our Foundation representative this term. We sincerely thank her for being such a dedicated Rotarian and we look forward to her year as our president in 2016-17!

We sincerely thank her for being such a dedicated Rotarian and we look forward to her year as our president in 2016-17!The Family of Rotary report had two people we need to keep in our thoughts. Although Jim Edwards is feeling better, he is now facing hip and knee surgery. Steve Lapointe was just diagnosed with prostate cancer but we don't have any details on his treatment. Please drop them a card or give them a call to cheer them up.
Don Glover announced the results of the elections for our new Board in 2016-17. They are as follows:
President: Beniat Page
Vice President: Vern Cook
Treasurer: Troy Daum
Secretary: Jeanne Hawkins
President Elect: Mike Fuqua
Arilla was kind enough to host the Dictionary party for the 11th year! The lasagna dinner was delicious! Many thanks to her again and again. It's a wonderful time to visit and get to know each other better while we put labels in the dictionaries and dole out the boxes of books to be delivered to the third and fourth graders in the Poway Unified School District. Thanks to Dave Brooks for selling the tickets to the Annual Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation Thanksgiving Luncheon that has been held at the Rancho Bernardo Inn for the past 26 years on the Tues. before Thanksgiving . It was originally started by our own Past President, Larry Foster. We have so much to be proud of. They have between 400 and 500 guests and they award gifts, grants and scholarships in the amount of $60-70,000 dollars every year.
Our Holiday Party will be held on Thurs., Dec. 10th at 5:30 p.m. Please get your reservations and money in as soon as possible so the club can make arrangements. Contact Benita Page if you have any questions.
Scott Robertson gave his Who Am I speech which was his final duty to receive his gold badge. Arilla happily presented him with the new badge right after he finished his speech. Welcome to our club Scott. You have already shown your enthusiasm for Rotary and our club!
John Kasser filled in for John O. as fine master and took in some happy bucks along with money from the auction of a Cozie Posie plant. Sonny Googins introduced our speaker, William Toone, EX. Dir. of ECOLIFE. His passion started out with his love of birds, working at the Wild Animal Park when it first opened. He spent 10 years working with Condors. He then spent many years in Madagascar working with people in a small village that sadly was washed away in a severe storm. Mr. Toone started ECOLIFE with his goal of "Protecting our Natural World and the People in it!"Thanksgiving Day we will be dark and the following week's meeting, on Dec. 3rd, will be at 12:00. Our speaker will be Jessica Jones, speaking on the Poseidon Desalination Project.
Arilla wished us all a Happy Thanksgiving and adjourned the meeting.
