RB Rotary Club Meeting Minutes November 13, 2014
President Don called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. The pledge was lead by Larry Saunders with a thoughtful reflection about caring for our veterans. This was followed by an inspirational thought by Charley Crew also on the topic of what is a Veteran. Thank you both gentlemen for your service and to all of the veterans in our club. Jeanne Hawkins introduced the guests. There was no new update from the Family of Rotary other than our esteemed fine master John O’Neill was back and in fining form! Welcome back John!President Don provided one of his ‘Senior Moments’ reflections and this one was on memory lapse and the ‘Star Wars’ defense program from the 80’s. Dave Brooks reminded everyone about the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Maderas on December 4th and that everyone should have received an invite and is encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible.
He also made an announcement about the RB Community Foundation Thanksgiving Luncheon. Our club has two tables reserved and they are almost sold out. Please contact Dave Brooks for any additional info. Don Lisio then reminded everyone about the Adopt-A-Family for the Holidays efforts and collection of funds is happening now to support those efforts. Please make checks payable to Rancho Bernardo Rotary Foundation and in the memo line print Adopt-A-Family.
