Rancho Bernardo Rotary Meeting Minutes
August 6, 2015

President Arilla called the meeting to order at 12:30
The Pledge was led by Joel Doss
The Opening Inspirational Thought was shared by John Kasser
The Greeter was Cathy Glover.  Jim Sommer helped lead the welcome song.
The Volunteers were:

Frances Blair presented a banner from the club in North Carolina where she visited in May.
The Family of Rotary was shared by Paul Donick, who had the sad task of announcing that Bill Bonner had died of his cancer.
Bob Vaughn is recouping from colon surgery.
Don Glover reminded the club of the next Rotary Night at the Padres is Aug 10 and then Sept 5th.  He still has a few tickets.

The Dead Line for applications to the Foundation is August 13th.
A District Matching Grant for $3500 has been approved making the Dictionary project the recipient of $7000.

Thank you's were received from Tender Loving Canines and the Eagle Scout for whom we took a collection. The total was not known.

Brian Flaherty was installed as a new member.  Don Glover is his sponsor.  Welcome Brian.

Karen Stelman and John O'Neill were thanked for leading the last two meetings in Arilla's absence.
John then collected fines and happy bucks.  Several gave in memory of Bill Bonner.

Don Glover introduced Julio Estrada, San Diego City Medical Investigator..Don also presented the gift book.

The next meeting is on Aug. 13th @ 5:30pm. The speaker will be Michael Rennie from the Poway Power on Stage.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:30.

Bill Bonner: A Celebration of His Life
 
We are sorry to announce that Bill Bonner passed away early Thursday morning August 6, 2015.
 
Bill was at home with Pat and their children and grandchildren.
 
A celebration of life service will be held on August 15th, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church at 17010 Pomerado Rd. San Diego, CA 92128. 
 
Please join us in remembering Bill Bonner surrounded by his family and friends.
