Meeting Minutes
May 24, 2018

President Mike brought the meeting to order and led us in reciting the 4 Way Test. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by president-elect Doug Dawson who impressed us by first reciting the Pledge in Latin. Past president Jim Sommer inspired us with the story of a horse trainer who is fighting hard to live a normal life after she lost a leg in the Lilac Fire last December.

Our greeter was recently transferred member Alex Robertson and he introduced several guests including the new Miss RB Michayla Shields and the new Miss RB Teen Kaitlyn Kostyzak. Also attending were Maureen Changnon, a counselor from RBHS, Kathy Marron, a counselor from Del Norte HS and Megan Gross, the Special Education Coordinator at Del Norte HS. Alex did a great job in leading us in singing the welcome song.
Mike thanked our volunteers: room setup by Sgt. at Arms Judy Lutticken; check-in by Joel Doss and Jim Hyldahl; photography by James Kaspar; past President Bill Angus for doing the newsletter and these words by your humble scribe, past President Dave Brooks.

Mike told us about the AVID program which helps prepare students for college. Please contact him or Toby Westbrook for more information. Our underwear drive is being coordinated by Frances Blair; it will benefit veterans who participate in Stand Down San Diego which will be held from June 29th to July 1st.
