President Benita called the meeting to order, noting that May is Rotary Youth Service Month, exemplified by our participation in the RYLA program as one example. Jim Hyldahl led us in the pledge .

Inspiration presented by Jon Harris. Ed Knight, Greeter, rotated around the room so members could introduce the over 20 guests present, including parents of our RYLA youth who were present. Gary Saks led us in both our Rotary Welcome Song and "God Bless America."

Troy Daum introduced the RYLA Program and said that the students themselves run the camp. Scott Robertson began the RYLA presentation and noted that the Camp taught leadership, self-confidence, and service. He introduced the RYLA students- asking each participant to respond to different questions such as "What was your most moving moment? Your favorite leadership position.? What was the most important thing you learned?" Answers were both interesting and poignant.

RB and Del Norte High School Advisors, Caroline Lee and Kathy Marron, respectively addressed the club and were thanked for their leadership, and promoting student leadership as well. 350 students attended RYLA from Southern California Rotary Clubs. Book presentations were made on behalf of the advisors.
