Rotary meeting minutes for 8/3/2017
 
 
Former president Benita Page stepped into the breach, replacing El Jefe Mike Fuqua who was away. Benita opened the meeting by thanking volunteers Alex Lawn as Greeter and Mira Bozanich for the Pledge. For the meeting set up, Benita thanked the set-up crew of Dave Brooks, Doug Dawson and Judy Lutticken, plus Joel Doss and Troy Daum for manning the check-in desk. Also receiving special mention were our club photographer, James Kaspar and John O’Neill as Scribe.
 
 
Arilla St. Laurent shared a Family of Rotary update by announcing that Scott and Erin Robertson are expecting their first child. Congratulations to a wonderful couple!
 
 
Acting president Benita announced that the Salvation Army Backpacks for Kids program would be held on August 12th. Phil Warner informed us that the Vista Hill project needs volunteers. If you can help, please see Phil for more information.
 
 
Finemaster John O’Neill politely asked all members to please stand and then inquired which of them had worn their Rotary pins the day before. It was a very good day for the Finemaster.
 
 
John Kasser introduced Our speaker, Victoria Cavalier, from Tender Loving Canines. Victoria shared very moving videos that detailed three individual stories of how these wonderful dogs helped them.
 
 
Our speaker for the August 10th evening meeting will be San Diego County Supervisor, District 3, Kristin Gasper.
