Living with Diabetes

Please join us this Thursday, Mar 22 at 12:00 pm for an interesting and inspriational presentation from the American Diabetes Association.  Our presenter will be Sheila Amanat Associate Director, Community Health Strategies, American Diabetes Association (ADA).  Sheila provides education, awareness, organizes the ADA’s Camp Wana Kura.  Joining Sheila will be Basma Adams, a college student at UCSD.  Basma is currently a student at UCSD studying health sciences. She has type 1 diabetes and formerly attended the American Diabetes Association’s Camp Wana Kura as a camper and now volunteers as an adult volunteer as a positive role model for younger children with the disease. More recently, Basma has become very involved with advocacy and has met with legislators both locally and nationally raising her voice to move the rights and needs of people with diabetes forward. ​
